Finished: 5 Heretic Troopers

 

This is the last post in the series showcasing my starting warband for Trench Crusade. Today you can see the most basic unit of the faction, the common soldiers of the Heretic Legions.

The Models

This kit is actually modular. There are 5 different body options, each weapon comes in a couple of variants, there is also an assortment of heads. The designs are simple, but in my opinion great. Painting them was fast and pleasurable and I can't wait until the campaign starts.

The Scheme

1. Slapchop underpainting
2. Occultist Cloak for the uniforms
3. Skeleton Horde for the gasmasks
4. Bony Matter for the wraps on the legs
5. Guilliman Flesh for the fetus if present on the model
6. Gore-Grunta Fur for the leather elements
7. Dirt Spatter for the armour and melee weaponry
8. Ryza Rust stipling on the elements covered in Dirt Spatter
9. Iron Warriors drybrush on those elements
10. Black Legion on the details that should be either metal or black
11. Heavy Metal drybrush on the elements that are supposed to be metal and were covered in Black Legion
