One of the projects started in Orctober 2025, a 20 orc strong unit of dual-wielding savage orcs, bought when I learned that they are removing them from AoS and I knew I wanted them for The Old World.

Finished: Tau Pathfinder Kill Team from Chalnath

Today marks a big milestone for me, as I managed to finish another Kill Team. As you can see it's the Tau Pathfonders from the second box to come out for the previous edition of Kill Team. I decided to go for a Farsight Enclaves scheme, as it was the one that I liked most.

The models themselve were assembled a long time ago. I recall that I didn't like how the listening devices attached to their heads, the point of contact was really small and bad and I had to glue more than one back after they just popped off randomly.

The scheme:

  1. Slapchop underpainting
  2. Flesh Tearrs red for the armour and red parts of the weapons
  3. Grim Black for the undersuit and the black parts of the weapons
  4. Space Wolves Grey on the skin
  5. Ratling Grime on the "hooves"
  6. White on all the parts that will be green
  7. Black Tone panel lining on the red elements
  8. Shamrock Green on all the lenses and blinking, technoloqical devices
  9. Balthazar Gold on the golden elements
  10. Leadbelcher on the silver elements
  11. Black Tone on the silver elements
  12. Reikland Fleshshade on the golden elements
  13. Bases: AK Fireland, Light Tone wash, Ryza Rust drybrush, Gamers Grass Alien Neon 4mm

Finished: Grinkrak's Looncourt

I have finished painting this band for Underworlds that I have actually bought to play Warcry. A very cool little project that enabled me to test out a bunch of stuff for any AoS goblins/grots that I'd like to paint in the future! They are "easy to build" miniatures that come in green plastic and sculpted bases. This is also the first time I used pink as a basecoat for yellow transparent paint and I'm in love!

The Scheme

  1. Black Primer
  2. Grey part of slapchop
  3. Squid Pink on elements that will be yellow or orange (2 or 3 thin coats should do the job)
  4. White drybrush
  5. Forest Sprite on the skin
  6. Dreadnought Yellow on yellow elements
  7. Turnbull Turquise on the remaining parts of the robes
  8. Chameleon Orange on the squigs
  9. Skeleton Horde on ropes and teeth
  10. Wyldwood on the wood
  11. Snakebite Leather on leather elements
  12. Blood Angels Red on the shields, moons and mushrooms
  13. Satchel Brown on the pouches
  14. 1:1:1 Burnt Moss, Occultist Cloak, Desolate Brown on the base
  15. Iron Warriors i Runelord Brass on the metallic elements
  16. Dark Tone on the metallic elements

Finished: Psychophage from Leviathan

I managed to finish the Psychophage from the Leviathan starter set! Such a big monster! Lovely sculpt full of wonderful detail.

The scheme is basically the same as usual (and I'm really happy that my scheme transfers so well from the small tyranids to thoe big bioforms!). I changed Ushabti Bone for Ivory as I believe my pot of Ushabti bone is going bad. I used Flesh Tearers red on the space marine armour and some Blood for the Blood God on the torn pieces.

Painted: 3 Test Hormax

Recently a friend lent me 3 colorshift paints by GSW, namely Darth Blue, Evil Forest and Borealis Green, to test on some The Makers Cult models I printed. A while ago I decided that I wanted my Iron Hive models to have opalescent armour plates, so the only thing left was to find the hue that I liked most. The schemes above are almost the same in terms of colours used, with the only difference being the shifter paint used. I decided to buy the same set (which contains 3 more paints), and the other ones plus probably more from other companies, to have options for various future projects. From those three I like Borealis Green most (even though I don't think I would use it for my Iron Hive).

The schemes:

  • Black primer
  • White drybrish to better see the details
  • Grey Seer on the flesh
  • Black on the armour plates
  • Gloss Varnish on the armour plates
  • Darth Blue (left) - one coat/ Evil Forest (middle) - 2 coats with airbrush and 3 with brush/ Borealis Green (right) - 2 coats on the armour plates
  • True Brass on the armour trim
  • Runelord Brass on some details
  • Heavy Metal on the weapons and spine
  • Steel on the rest of the metal bits
  • Grimdark Shadow on the metal elemenents
  • (optional) Stormhost Silver drybrush over the metal elements
