Yesterday evening I decided to have a little palate cleanser after painting the 5th goblin in my 1 mini/day system and complement the goblin model painted in the morning with some a sci-fi character. I painted this minature with Space Weirdos in mind, but I think that I could use him in a variety of different games!
The Model
This is the GrimCorp Elder, designed by StationForge. It comes in four parts: the body, the empty hand, the hand with the staff and the head (available in two variants) and I 3d printed it on my trusty Mars 2p. The elements are neither too thick nor too feeble and assembly was easy.
The Scheme
- Slapchop underpainting
- White on the ball on the top of his staff and the lenses
- Turnbull Turquise (Army Painter) for the main part of the robe
- Skeleton Horde (Citadel) for the tabard and the trim of the cape
- Satchel Brown (Army Painter) for boots, gloves and belt
- Gore-grunta Fur (Citadel) for pouches
- Shyish Purple (Citadel) for the cape
- Black Legion (Citadel) for the staff and cables
- Frostheart (Citadel) for the ball and eyelense
- Shamrock Green (Army Painter) for the rest of the lenses and screens
- True Brass (Army Painter) for most of the metals (majority of the breastplate and helmet plus the bracers)
- Heavy Metal (Army Painter) for the majority of the remaining metals
- Screaming Bell (Citadel) for a few bits and bobs that we don't want to be neither brass nor steel
- Grimdark Shadow (Army Painter) for the metals
